No matter your level of film education, there's never a bad time to work on improving your craft. Whether it's screenwriting, production culture, theory, history, editing, or equipment, I offer the opportunity for you to enroll in customized classes — online or in-person — that are tailored to your interests. No goal is too big and no challenge is insurmountable with my mentorship.
Lessons are tailored to your schedule and needs, offering opportunities for expanded exercises to apply learned skills, as well as detailed feedback.
Do you have a film you've always wanted to make, but don't know where to start? Need help finding creative inspiration? Or, perhaps you've got a script that you need feedback on or a guiding eye? Or even TikTok content you want to kick off?
Under my guidance, we can work to establish firm deadlines, create pathways to success, overcome obstacles, and produce great art that will take your voice to film festivals and galleries worldwide.
I've helped students find ways to film in airplanes and record stores, recreate World War I battles, transform internal struggles into gripping fantasies, and apply to competitions that saw their no-budget movies screened in Times Square. There's no project too big or too small, especially if we work together!
Are you interested in applying to film school but daunted by the numerous choices, the complex process, and the varying portfolio requirements from each school? The ubiquity of filmmaking tools has made the application process for film school more labyrinthine and demanding than ever before. It's intentional and designed to discourage all but the most dedicated applicants and those who know how to cut through the red tape.
For the past two decades, I've guided dozens of students through this process, starting as early as their Freshman year of high school. Whether that means you need to have a frank conversation about the reality of film school, the importance of academics, what to look for as you begin your search, or helping you write and produce short films, I've helped students achieve successful admissions to NYU, USC, UCLA, Chapman, CalArts, LMU, Emerson, ArtCenter, and more.
At the core of this practice is an emphasis on your abilities, rather than the manipulative hand of an industry professional, so that you are successfully placed in an educational facility that meets your individual needs and abilities. As a student of NYU, USC, UCLA, and UMBC, and an adjunct faculty member at Towson University, I know firsthand that a one-size-fits-all approach does not work for all arts college students. My goal is to find the ideal environment for you to thrive as a young artist and professional.
